Hello I am here to seek help about the possibilities of me signing on RSAF AFE (SC). From what i foresee, i would most likely be entering as ME1. I am very new to this and would like more information.

I'm currently on my ptp phase and my bmt is in 2 weeks or so. I'm expected to pop in december.

I graduated from a business diploma and have some supply chain experience (both in studies and from part time work). I have also secured a place in SUSS's supply chain degree and expecting to enter in 2020 when i ORD.

What I would like to know is that:
1. If I were to sign on during my BMT/NSF time, do I fulfill my 5 yr contract before i can enter uni, or I will enter uni before serving the contract, or will i be able to enter uni like after 1-2 years of serving the contract and then continue to serve the remaining years after graduating from uni?

2. Is RSAF's AFE Supply Chain a good place to kickstart my career in supply chain?

3. I have not thought too far, but if I were to sign on, and then leave after my 5 year contract have ended, what are the prospects of me entering the private sectors. Would my skills be recognized?

4. What are the working hours. Is it mostly shift work or standard work hours ? Can you go home every day or like have to stay like in camp for a few days?

Really hope yall can give some information about this so that i can consider. Thanks!

1) did you reach out to the career centre? if you have not, that should be the only source of reliable information because they (your employer) are the ones who will determine that.

2) Define "good place"

3) "define prospects". I hesitate a guess that, there are people here who will tell you, whatever you do in SAF wouldn't be recognised in the private sector, but contrary to what they believe to be the case, skills are skills, it doesn't matter where one goes.

4) did you reach out to the career centre? if you have not, that should be the only source of reliable information because they (your employer) are the ones who will determine that.
