My Creative XtremeMusic soundcard's metal bracket is broken and now I cant screw and mount it securely..what options do I have to fix that? I am using a vertical tower casing. Thanks in advance.
This item is quite light so it should hold on its own via the PCIe bracket.
If you really wanna secure to the case, you need to change the bracket. There should be some screws securing it to the PCB board. Perhaps you can search in taobao or ebay??
SLS should have, backlane shops.
Basically just replaced the metal bracket.
There should be a screw attached to the
PCB board, unscrew it and you could take out the bracket.

There are holes on the metal bracket so he needs to find one that matches. Best bet is to find spoit same units in taobao/ebay and swap the brackets over.
The card is not heavy in nature, stack 2 pieces of back slot L cover just below the sound card slot to support the card. You can use wire tie to tighten the broken bracket to the 2nd piece of back slot L cover to further reinforce the support.
