Hi,

Any cheap and good recommendation on upgrade my RAM to 16gb

Current build is 2x4gb corsair vengence LPX 2400mhz

Not sure why when playing csgo my fps will drop a lot during smoke and flash so trying to upgrade RAM to see whether can resolve this issue

My current rig

Intel i5-7400 3Ghz
Asus H110M-A/M.2
2x4gb Corsair vengence LPX 2400mhz
Asus GTX1060 6gb DUAL
using a normal SSD to run csgo

I bought my processor, RAM & GPU last year.

Eeerrrr..... You can read reddit on this. Plenty of ppl complaining smokes causes fps drop. Nothing you can do really. Your gpu looks good, CSGO don't eat ram too, so 8 vs 16, I don't think it will solve your issue as this is likely due to gpu computing the transparency. Gpu will spike during smoke grenade scenes.

Easiest way to reduce the drop is reducing your AA, though at the cost of some screen tearing.

Contrary to the myths from the 1990s, more RAM will not help you here.

Your bottleneck is that you chose to save money on the 1060.

Good news is that 1070 and 1080 are available cheap cheap now.

It doesn't really eat processor either. The game is not optimized for pushing high framerates and yet it is only enjoyable with it.

Higher single core performance will increase the fps in this title.

to play CS GO smoothly, you need a 1080 GTX , i7 processor and at least 16gb of ram. confirm no such lag.

Mine on a 980 GTX SLI lags when more people throw smoke. :(

in short time to upgrade~
