Need help upgrading to current gen build

Now, I am looking to make my next desktop and would like some advice regarding the parts as I am very very blur right now regarding such issues

I am not sure about current gen CPU and motherboard with the introduction of ryzen(is it better than intel?)

Main purposes of computer is web browsing and some gaming(no need to maxed graphic). (want to play monster hunter world when it come out^^)

Regarding CPU, I personally don't overclock as firstly I don't know how to and secondly I don't think I need to(not yet anyway)

Parts from my current desktop that should be reusable
GPU - ZOtac 1050
HDD - 1tb
PSU - Superflower 550v 80+ silver (sld i change?)
Corsair 300R case (Sld i look for another case? suggest one anyway if i got spare cash)

Budget around 500-800 hopefully as I know DDR4 price is .......

I3-8100 for budget
I5-8400/ Ryzen 5 1600 if u wanna fork out more

Do note that ryzen dun come with iGPU, meaning if ur GPU died then need get a new one, intel de have integrated graphics at least can use for basic usage while you source for new gpu or waiting for replacement

Psu use how long le? If many years can change liao ba.

Case can look at Phanteks P300 and fractal design stuff generally pretty good quality if ur looking for mATX size

Since you current pc already considered dead, if you can't wait much for cheaper B360 or H210 boards, then Ryzen is the way to go. Here's what I have in mind:
