Need help verify this laptop problem

i'm helping my brother to fix a problem. This 5yrs old lenovo ideapad s410 freeze while idle/internet after a short period of time.
Hard reset, freeze at loading windows, repeat reset still the same. The only thing can be done is to clean install windows.
Then the whole cycle repeat. I suspect problem due to faulty motherboard. Am i right or anyone has any other opinion ?

Can be board, ram, cpu.

Check power charger

Perform memtest86 on ram.
Then do smart check on ssd
Lastly check graphic cards in any.
If nope, motherboard.

IdeaPad is bad, next time choose business lineup more reliable

Do memtest first, boot from thumbdrive.

Check the temp of the components, i.e. CPU/ GPU, and also see if the fan is working. If the issues you mentioned does not happen immediately, it is possible that it is overheating, and therefore, crashing/ freezing.

You should always test what is the easiest, before moving on to testing other parts.

Usually freeze or lockup is the RAM. My guess is a timing issue.
