Hi, i have come accross a promo at $3168

Their specs and price is as follow

Cpu: i7 8700k 6c/12t
Motherboard: Asrock z370 taichi
Cooler: NZXT X52 KRAKEN LIQUID COOLER
RAM: KLEVV CRAS2 RGB 3200MHZ 16GB KIT
SSD: 240GB M.2
HDD: 1TB 7200RPM
GPU: ZOTAC GTX1080TI 11GB AMP! EXTREME CORE
PSU: SUPERFLOWER LEADEXii 750W 80+ Gold
CASE: NZXT S340 ELITE TG
WIN10 64 BIT

Supplier did not state brand of ssd and hdd.
Planning to up the ssd to 500gb at least
Case to crosair crystal case 570x +$130
Ram to g.skill tridentz 3200mhz 16gb kit +$20
I have budget up to 3.5k
Somehow i am not confident that this is the best i can get. Please help.

Mainly use for gaming at max settings. Planning to buy monitor that supports 4k at 144

2. 1080Ti prices are insanely jacked up now, everyone trying to make a quick $ before the 2000 series are on sale

Over expensive gpu model which doesn't cool the card well,
Over expensive rgb liquid cooler,
Over expensive TG chassis that you wanna get as well.

Unless you going for aesthetic route and don't mind to pay, then go ahead.

But given your budget and the needs of 4k 144hz, I'd suggest you tone down on aesthetic and focus more on functionality as no single gpu solution can do 4k 144hz now, not even the upcoming RTX 2080 Ti for max settings gaming on a 4k 144hz display.

I guess i will have to lower my expextation of 4k then. There shouldnt be problem running at ultra settings i hope. Please give suggestion as i am really a noob at this. Was told a i7-8600 will do, tower to change to 470x, gpu to evga ftw3. Probably go pcthemes and settle everything there?

tbh i also build my com base on rgb i am paying ALOT more for the "nice" rainbows. lol

Also rgb very hard to control with one software. You need to have multiple software depending on your build. Some software may crush with each other causing the light not able to work. All these you have to take into consideration also.

Where u going to buy the EVGA gpu from?

Alot of the 1080ti models, distis not bringing in anymore. Most of what is in SLS are probably the last batch.

At a budget of 3.5k just go with the look you are going for. I would prefer to have a system which looks as good as possible to me together with a performance.

In my opinion go for a 1080ti system as you can add another 1080ti when 2080 hits the market if the performance of a single 1080ti is not enough.

Which 1080ti.. Go for the one which has the maximum warranty. Performance between different models of same card would not result in dramatic changes. You can easily mildly OC most cards and get equivalent performance.

The Strix-F Z370 is a 4-layer PCB board that's only capable of delivering around ~200W max sustained. It's memory trace layout is also not optimal resulting in the guaranteed maximum memory frequency yield being ~3600MHz. Uses 5k Apaq Taiwanese capacitors. VRMs are fake double budget series Vishay 4+2 phases, generic inductors iirc.

The Taichi Z370 at the same price uses a 6 or 8 layer PCB. Real doubling of PWM phase at 5X2 + 2 using 35A Fairchild Dual N-Fets (amdk),Cooper Bussmann ~65A inductors (amdk), 12K Nichicon fpcap (mij). Memory frequency yields are known to go up to ~4400MHz. It's known to be a board with equal attainable power output through the CPU cores with the Asus Maximus X Hero..

For the same SRP as the Z370-F that uses budget-ish components for Z370 range it's a no brainer the Taichi is a better pick. But if you want to save some money for a moderate than heavy OC board, the Gigabyte Gaming 5 or MSI Pro Carbon's price better reflects the realistic ask price of the Asus Z370-F for the same class of hardware.

To be fair there is nothing really "wrong" for its component choice for the Z370-F.
Simply it is just a sub-standard board at $379, but reasonably priced at $300.

In the US it is reasonably priced about the same as gaming 5/extreme4/pro carbon but not in sg. For a same tier board it is better to take the $80 saving and allocate them to something else. Like more storage or memory.

Just wanted to point out that if you need sata ssds (not m2), the 860evos have started to be discounted during sales so check lazada frequently. 500gb 860evo dropped as low as 130$ iirc.

A 4K 144Hz monitor will set you back your entire budget, you will also need a very high end graphics card to play 4K contents smoothly, you may want to consider a 1440p monitor for gaming instead.

I think u better check with seller on availability of 1080ti first. Afaik sls no more 1080ti amp extreme core/amp extreme already.
