Need help with first gaming rig

Hi,

This is my first time making a gaming rig, my budget is around 1.3 for the CPU itself and maybe $200 for a monitor?

This is some of what I have chose from my research at tomhardware guide.
please help me out ! Thanks!
I also need a CD drive and wireless internet is used at home

Monitor : DELL E2416H 24 ($198 at lazada)
Case:Cooler Master MasterBox 5 (like that it's transparent)
CPU: Intel Core i5-6500
Graphics: Asus Gtx 1060 6gb
Motherboard : Gigabyte GA-H170-D3HP
Ram: any 8Gb Ram(future upgrade to 2 8gb?)
SSD: Samsung 850 EVO - 500GB (overkill?)
HDD: WD 1TB
PSU: Corsair RM550x

Will all this work? I'm really sorry if it's a mess. Really noob here...

Have you calculate total price of your choosen parts?
Looking at it.. im sure it will be more than $1300.. and yet not include wifi adapter, cd drive and OS..

will you consider other configuration than above?

Change your psu. No need so much power. A 450w will do.

Change your gpu. The cheaper zotac(5 years) or Palit (3 years) will save more money.

Consider getting the msi h110 pro ac (itx). I think there's inbuilt Wi-Fi. But there's only 1 pcie 3.0x16

Note that price quoted by forummers is usually the best price they can find. So they can find 6GB that is cheaper than $399 also. Just ask them.

IMO, the extra 10% processing hardware of the 6GB variant is worth something, but more importantly it can run Mirror's Edge at full settings without running into ram limit.

Yeah ample vram more impt than the 10% more processing power when jumping from 3gb to 6gb for 1060.

The moment ure vram run out and have to swap textures and stuffs into system ram fps will drop dramatically.

That goes for 400 retail. Personally, there's no real difference between the 2. But go for it if u want to. the better heat dissipation might be nice for u.

It depends. For me when I buy the card, I know it will be used in cool conditions (air-con). Also the 5 year warranty is another assurance liao. I am not saying that the mini is better, it depends on your circumstances.
