Hi,
Does anyone knows roughly when is the best time to see Lavenders in Furano?
Also, since I'll be taking JR trains (can't drive), so any advice on which farms to visit at Biel and Furano area that's easily accessible via trains?

Also, along the train route from Sapporo to Hakodate, other than Lake Toya, Noboribetsu, and Onuma koen, is there anywhere else that's a good place to stopover for a few hours for lunch and some walkabout?

Thanks.

Should be around mid July. My colleague went around start of August and they had harvested most of the lavenders.

1. Late June ~ August

2. Farm Tomita lor. There's a train that stops at the Lavender Farm station in summer. Not sure if it's JR though.

3. You can try Tomakomai, can visit the botanical garden, makan at the fish market and go to the science centre.

Late July.
I was at Tomita & around Biei ( driving )in early August last year. Tomita still had some lavender.
But sunflower field further away was almost full bloom.

So, around 3rd-4th week of July is probably the best time to see the Lavenders in full bloom at Furano?

Thanks for the tip. I didn't know about the garden and science center. Will look more into it.
