My laptop fan doesn't spin after not being used for a long time. I changed the motherboard before my warranty finished but i didn't use it after that. 3 months later, I tried to start but it says the fan doesn't spin and I can't boot to desktop anymore. Any idea how to fix?

Morning!

Would like to clarify, it states a fan error when booting up & there's no other way to continue booting into windows?

Also please do provide us with your make and model of your laptop
Looks to be possibly a broken fan / fan connector not connected properly (you can unseat and reseat the connectors to try) also clean out the fan with compressed air if it looks clogged.

It kind of boots into windows but it shows a black screen after that.
My laptop is HP Pavilion DV6-6003TX. I tried to take out the keyboard to reach the fan but was unable to find it. It's probably hidden even further inside.

Hello, these are the parts that you would have to remove in order to gain access to the fan.

You may refer to this guide for step by step instructions on the dismantling of the laptop. (Do verify if the guide tallies with your laptop series and model before disassembly - possibly many generations /versions of DV6 )
