Hi, I'd like to make a temp built before I get a proper one as my current pre-built bochap gaming pc has failed me for years, it was meant for family use but has been given to me, but the gpu, power supply has been changed( 560ti & seasonic x660). I have lots of problems with it, like continuous beeping sound when I tun it on 75% of the time, I suspect it's the cheap mobo that came from Acer, even though the ram, mobo's been repaired by them.

I'm planning to get a mobo, cpu, os & case for a budget of <$600.

Here's the list that I came up with, please help me If It's a good choice? & Is it really necessary to get win7? I'm still using vista haha

Gigabyte Z87 D3HP
Intel 4670
Win7
(Insert cheap reliable case here, for temp use)

Thanks!

Umm... U overclocking or not? No need z boards if u ain't, n if yes, u need a k cpu.

Then I assume u just want a new build but will just add in gfx later rather than what ur thread title says, a temp pc?

If ur temp pc will be passed to ur family for use later for just surfing net n watching videos, might as well go with Celeron processor.

Sorry but I dunno ur real intentions for your "temp" pc

sry, think I made some confusion in my title, what I meant was a temp build to change my current one to a pretty stable built than the one I'm using now which is a pre-built acer, but I did change the gpu & psu to a 560 ti & a x660 psu, & the only thing I need now is a budget casing, cpu & mobo, cause I plan to upgrade the gpu next year.

I'd like to know if this cpu, mobo that I'm going to buy would be sufficient for 2-3 years perhaps?

Intel i5-3570
Asus P8Z77-V LK
g skill 8gb

I'll be getting the Maxwell gpu's next year so will it bottleneck from the non k version?

And yes it's for gaming.
