Need help with new gaming rig

Not very sure about the price of the system yet but here are the recommendation given by a friend. My budget is around 3k

Mobo : mpower 87
I7 processor ?
Gtx 760 twin power x2
Psu 750 watt corsair
Ram : 4x4 corsair
H80 hydro corsair
SSD 256 ?
HD : WD 2T
Casing ?

Any feedback and suggestion are welcome. Looking for CPU only

3k alot of money.
Don't sli 760, a single GPU solution such as the 780 would be better.
However, with 3K you can sli 780 if budget done well(actually dont even need much effort)
However getting 780 sli and play on 1080p is way overkill, unless you have 120hz monitor. One 780 should be able to max every game on 1080p easily le.

So some things to consider:
1440P Monitor (Try to believe, the gaming experience is just on a whole new level)
Upgrade your peripherals
Better set of speakers/soundcard/headphones/amp/DAC
Bigger capacity SSD

Ofcourse, it all depends on which will improve your gaming experience more for YOURSELF.
Frankly, 1440P monitor at $360 was the best hoot I consider I have gotten myself.
Of course, some people care alot about FPS and all that stuff, but to me, as long as I can play past 40 stable fps, heck even 25 fps, i'd rather get 1440P than 1080P at 60fps.

Thats just me though and I know many here would feel otherwise, but I have tried, and tested, and found the best solution for myself. Can consider if you want, $360 for 1440p 27" is a steal, a dell ultrasharp 1080p 23" easily cost $250.

Or you can just go single 780 and keep the rest of your money!

Hi yes there is a possibility that I will be considering over clocking. The reason for hydro Is because i realise due to the position of my current rig and table set up it has been generating a lot of heat.

Hi i am looking at sli cause I will be running off 3 monitors and there are a couple of games that I would be using multiple client, would a single card support that ?

Ah 3 monitor. Single 780 can but SLI 770 or 780 definitely better if you playing on multiple screen at once. I thought you only one monitor haha. Don't go sli 760, your budget can do 770/780 sli.
Can go i7 hyperthread if you play those cpu intensive and make use of core, BF3/4.

OC or not is your choice. If you OC, can get msi z87 boards or mpower series, if not just go for non z87.

You want sufficiency, or customizability and aesthetics?
Depends you willing to splurge or not, can go for value tower cases like switch 810/CM full towers, but note that you need alot of space for these giants.

Else, just go for something with enough space for your hdds, gpu and cooling config.

haha.. i have not been updating myself on parts and casing for a very long time le.. those parts given to me were recommendation of a friend i am not very sure of the compability of the configuration and of cause a bit of aesthetics would be nice

Depending on your definition of nice aesthetic, clean look go for Fractal Design series, or Switch 810 while showing your component with a big big window.

Fierce look can look into Corsair 600T Graphite, CM Cases(Trooper, Haf series), Phantom series, Thermaltake Revo. Many of these also offer big window panels.

Do google dimensions and see if component can fit, also some of them can remove HDD tray to make way for GPU if necessary.
