Hallo guys,

My iMac died on me last week... been trusty for 3 years and the hard disk gave up right after its warranty expired :slant:

It costs $900 to repair so am thinking maybe it's better to get a new PC instead (about 1ish k). The thing is... haven't been using PCs for a while so not sure where to begin. :s22:

Usually use the computer for heavy duty things like Photoshop and renderings, Autocad as well.

What do you guys recommend??

Thanks in advance! :)

Do you game?

Next is please indicate if you need the following items.

1. Monitor
2. Keyboard & Mouse
3. Speakers
4. Wireless card
5. OS

Lastly for rendering needs please increase your budget a bit more. Cause 1k is not gonna land you a proper rig.

Nope I don't game! Don't need monitor, keyboard or mouse and speakers, but can do with a wireless card and OS...

What's a realistic budget?? Was looking at Dell, seems pretty hardy?

You can get it all from Tradepac. Write down the list of items needed.

Write down 1 with price list, one without price list.

Pass it to Tradepac. Let them quote you. Check whether the price gauge is it around the price that i have mentioned to you.

If it is deemed correct or close to. Try to bargain as much as possible. You should be able to bargain around $50 or more.

Do your homework. You should be safe.
