For start try changing cpu core voltage 1.35v~1.37v and the cpu frequency to 3900.

If it boots means good.

Thanks! Do i have to disable XFR first? heard this one is auto overclock software for X models only?

Is there any bench test i can download to run? What bench test is the best?

Wait. Yours is 1800x. Sorry i thought 1700 lol.

Set the same vcore. But frequency to 4000 instead.

You can disable if you want it.

Go for aida64 first. Let it run and report back what temperatures are you at.

Check your motherboard the number display. It should be the best accurate temperature for cpu reading.

yup yup is 1800x, so kinda worried that XFR will conflict or something as i think is an overclocking software. How to disable XFR?

The core performance boost need to disable? I saw one guy disable that but not sure what is it for.

Yes you can disable that.

Try aida64 and see what temperature you are getting. Let it run for an hour.

If i leave XFR on will it conflict with the manual overclocking process?

It should not. Disabling it will not extend to 4.1ghz if it permits. But since you do a manual oc, xfr will not work. So doesnt really matter if you want to disable it or not.

Ok it booted at 4. Voltage at 1.35 but had to lower ram speed to 2400 as it wouldnt boot with that on.

Running cinebench now to see if stable

1613 is kinda underwhelming. You should be getting a little more than that shouls be at 17xx range.

But i also believe its your ram speed plays a part. 2x8gb? 2400mhz.

Hmm 17xx for 4GHz? The best i saw was 1613. Repeated test either gave me 1583 or 16xx range. Yup 8x2gb at 2400. Can't boot at 2667.

I tried getting it to boot at 4.1 Ghz on 1.37v but i got stuck at bios loading screen. Will try again with a better cooler when my bracket gets here.

Most of us are getting r7 1700 oc at 3.9ghz with 2667mhz ram already low 17xx points. 4ghz should go more.

I believe, could be your cooler limitations, what cooler you using any way? I believe it could be your cpu are throttling due to heat.

Or another reason would be your ram speed.

And cpuz if it is running 3.6ghz then high likely your cpu should be hitting thermal limits.

Hmm not sure. My cooler is thermaltake contacsilent.. Temp cooler atm for cryorig h5 with dual fans . But the temps seem to be fine leh. Low 48s to 53 as reported by mobo bios and hwmonitor.

Could be a mix of both i guess. It cant boot at 2667. Onlyat 2400
