need help with remaining parts

hi all,

need some recommendation on the most value for $ for the rest of my remaining parts, don't really have a budget but just wanna spend as little as possible, maybe $500 to work with?

usage is just to play overwatch & LoL, the rest casual, very simple usage

currently have gtx960, ssd with me
what i had in mind was: h110m+ g4560 or should i get i3-7100?

so i'll need mobo+processor, psu+casing, prefer matx/itx but not sure my gfx can fit or not? im using this version: http://www.palit.com/palit/vgapro.php?id=2442&lang=en&pn=NE5X960S1041-2061F&tab=sp


and ram i can probably source for a 2nd hand one online

Definitely G4560 over i3-7100.

PSU budget one can get FSP Hexa+, but suggest you get a good PSU like EVGA G Series.

Casing Tecware F3 is the most budget, pretty decent, just kinda tight for cable management. More quality options would be Fractal Design Define Mini C, Phanteks P400TG.

i think g4560 would be better value for money, almost 2x the price for a mere 10% increase not that significant to me. i'll go with h110m too the standard mobo.


is there a huge diff between diff ratings of psu or just brand reliability?

Yes. Difference between rating of psu is significant. 80+ Gold psu have better components used and better power savings. Most of them run more quiet with the 0-rpm Eco mode when the psu is at low load. Cleaner power output also helps preserve motherboard components lifespan too.

However, if your usage is very low power, a normal 80+ is suffice instead of needing 80+ Gold (even though it's good to have). Usually, for low power usage or budget build, I would just recommend a normal 80+ or 80+ Bronze. Only when overclocking is involved, I would highly recommend 80+ Gold psu.

Hi, these are my recommendations based on your budget and requirements (assuming that you are buying RAM 2nd hand and reusing your HDD/SSD & GPU).

If you are playing games like overwatch and LOL, g4560 is more than enough. i5 7600 or ryzen 1600 is overkill.

Take the savings to get a better PSU / SSD / GPU / Monitor.

Its a better CPU from a higher price range. But for your current usage seems the G4560 will be sufficient imo.

Though if you have the budget, Ryzen is a good upgrade.

Anyway monitor can get Dell SE2417HG if you want low response time TN panel, S2316H if you want IPS display. Good monitors for under $200.

Because you did not mention that you needed a monitor as well, so I used your budget on a better CPU.

i5-7600 has 4 cores & 4 threads VS G4560 with 2 cores & 4 threads. FYI, Ryzen r5-1600 has 6 cores & 12 threads. More cores and threads are better as current and future games will take advantage of it, as well as game streaming, video editing/encoding, etc...

Depends on model. It's EITHER DDR3 or DDR4. Double check with shop. Ddr3 will not work in ddr4 slot and vice versa.

i downloaded the memory support list for gigabyte's h110m mobo, only had ddr4 listed, i guess all h110m supports ddr4 only then..

Only saw gigabyte B150M-D3V (D3) is using ddr3 that's priced near to h110 series from PCT price list. Otherwise, I think the ddr3 h110 series is eol liao.

saw it as well, but i think it would be better for me to get h110 w/ a ddr4 ram, price point would be more or less similar as well, thanks!
