hi everyone, i have this old HP pc (2009) and its having those clicky noise(something like static) but its still working fine.
i think its sth to do with the psu so i would like to replace it.

would be making a trip down to simlim, any idea which cheap psu i should get for this old com.

this is the psu(300w?) that is currently inside.

:s13: yea did consider. actually have a budget of 2k for a new rig. im quite a thrifty person so i normally use until spoil den change :s22:

this pc still can do all the basic daily stuff, play dota2 so was thinking maybe if can replace a cheap psu to tong awhile b4 changing a new rig like end of this year.

if i were to get a new rig, budget of 2k. normal web surfing/hd video streaming, capable of playing games such as Evolve.
what are the components that are recommended?

Get a FSP HEXA+ 450 if you want a cheap 80plus(bronze) PSU at around 50 bucks...

How about simply buying a good PSU (meant for your new rig) first, use it in this rig and transfer it into the new rig when built? That way you save the costs of having to buy two PSUs and the lost value of the cheap PSU when you have to sell it off as second hand.

Bestec ATX-300-12Z Review

I agree with Hegge on the assessment of Worstec, I mean, Bestec.

On a more serious note, clicking sound probably means the fan is dying. Unsurprising.

I also suspect there are a few bloated cheapo caps inside as well.

Not all the list that i have quoted before for other threads will work in tat cramp chassis.

TS do do some measurement and space clearance of the cpu before purchasing. How much space do you have for a slightly longer psu.

Also do check if the siund is confirm coming in from there.

do i just buy everything from PCThemes or should i source from different places like amazon, rakuten, etc. will the price diff be huge?

and also planning to get a 24" monitor at 1080p. which brands of monitor do you recommend?
