hi i'm currently running on Gigabyte Z97-D3H mobo, i5 4590 3.3ghz, Gigabyte R9 280 graphic card, 128gb ssd (only os inside), 2tb+500gb+250gb hdd, crosair h80i cooler, 8gb ram *recent upgraded

but how ever when i'm in game i am always laggy while my old i3 system will do much better..

can i know what's the possible problem to cause laggy?? is the ram insufficient? i have to pump to max 32gb?

Define 'laggy'. What games are you playing, what resolutions are you gaming at and what settings are you at when playing the game?

1. pls ensure the ram is secure properly (i seem case where customer did not install the ram properly)
2. check if you recently install any program (could be some virus/program) that is lagging the system
3. download ccleaner and see if there are startup program that are not necessary that you need to disable to optimized the pc

btw, you game install in your ssd or hdd? you have a lot of hdd.. lol! install in ssd might speed up the game.

@Alternative X - wad i mean laggy is like the graphic isnt smooth and stuck for 1 or 2 secs at time. i'm playing D3 only.

@ASUS@SG i duno whether the ram is secure as the shop tech did it for me. i also never install new program. all my games in hdd. all hdds are my old hdd since got slot can use so i just leave it there.

anyway thanks for the inputs. i'll check accordingly.

a video recording would be good.

meanwhile, check if you have installed your video drivers.

Make sure that you are connecting your monitors to the output ports on the GPU and not the ones on the mobo, otherwise you may be running your Diablo III with Intel HD Graphics and getting bad gaming performance.

32gb of rams wun make ur game more smooth. U just wasted ur money. If ur OS is wins 7 HE, then ur system is limited to 16gb. if want higher, need use wins 8 and above or wins 7 ultimate. But i doubt rams are the issue here.

What internet are u using? What ping are you getting?

It could also be the case of ur hdd. Try moving the game to ur ssd if there is still some space. See if it is more smooth.

I presume the upgrade that u did is to upgrade to 8gb ram initially? Try plugging into the other ram slots to see if the ram is defective or whether it will still affect ur game or not.

Do try installing the game in ssd as well.

Fragment your HDD (not ssd)? Or check the program you installed, maybe taking up resource. What ssd you using? Samsung 840 series has issues.

Maybe r9 280 use for d3 is normal to get 1 or 2 sec lag in d3. Maybe can try lower your graphic setting or resolution see if that helps. My brother using 780 gtx for d3 with ssd 8gb ram is silky smooth never seen it lag at all not even a sec. Even when big battle with lots of monsters on screen. I tried r9 270 on d3 with hdd and it can lag 1 or 2 sec in d3 it is normal.
