Need help!!

Hello guys! My pc will suddenly turn off, but the power is still on and my motherboard will show have the CPU fail led light up.

I recently changed my GPU from 1060 to 4080 and my cpu fan to Noactua NH d15 and also upgraded my PSU to NZXT 1200w.
While changing my cpu cooler I did not remove the cpu but I just left it there. It was working well before the change

after the change, I will be able to boot up, but around maybe 5-10 minutes in, the monitor will just go black but everything else in my case is still running. Then my motherboard will show the led that indicates CPU fail.
Temp wise I’ve checked, my Noctua max 70deg under load(for that 5mins) before it just shuts off.

does this mean it’s a major cpu failure and I have to buy a new cpu?

Which motherboard are you using?
FYI RTX4000 series may not work in older motherboard, unless there is BIOS update.
I hope it is not 6/7th gen motherboard as to my knowledge RTX 4000 won't work.

I’m using the MSI x570 A Pro..so it should work right

Go to bios, and reset to factory default settings, update bios if there's any. Then try and see how long it last. If it lasts, tweak the bios settings up.

If not last, look at every power plugs and see if they are correct (not sure if your PSU have labelling on it) and seated properly. Remove 4080 and try again with 1060.

It managed to boot up this morning, I did the reset and then updated the bios. Checked all the power plugs all correct, 4080 is using the single 12vhpwr cable.

only lasted like 10minutes before the same thing happened.

just wondering if my mobo is giving the led that shows cpu failure would the gpu be the cause of it?

did chiu scrape / wipe off the existing thermal paste and put new on one when changing cpu cooler?

Yes I did . Temp is not an issue as I did some heavy load (temp never go beyond 67 deg) before it shut off

maybe can try remove beedio card and try to reboot see how..

Did you check if the CPU got slight dislodge upon remove the old cpu cooler as sometime CPU will stick to thermal paste. It's better to take out CPU check for any pin bent and install whole thing again.

Is very hard to say, if you brought from a shop suggest bring the parts like PSU, graphic card let them test.
For me I suspect could be PSU, NZXT PSU are rarely used.
If you bring to the shop and the PSU is the fault I suggest change to MSI PCIE5 PSU.

Sadly in current market very few PCIE5 PSU, I hope the parts you did not buy from Carousell.
If from Carousell it would be even difficult to return and do a exchange.

I got my PSU from techabyte from lazada, how do you deduce its the PSU that is at fault?

Try monitor your power usage using HWinfo during the stress test and check the 12v rail power in HWinfo does it go below 12v

replace motherboard cmos battery

use only 1 stick of ram and put in different slots and stress test

borrow different psu

How do I check? I do not do any oc or whatsoever

Since you upgrade from 1060 to 4080, did you uninstall the driver? If no and all else fail, then try using display driver uninstaller(DDU) and reinstall the Nvidia driver.

try to carefully unmount heatsink, take out cpu and put back cpu and mount back heatsink, to rule out mechanical accident loosen the contact in your first try

am4 always got chance cpu stuck on thermal paste on hs.
