Need opinion on potential build!

Hello people, newbie here looking to build first PC, since my pre-built HP computer of 5 years is already on its last days

At first was thinking of getting one of the Aftershock Desktops but then friend say build yourself better.

So I have been looking around, getting some advice for friends who know a bit about building, and have been looking at the following parts:

CPU: Intel Core i5-7600 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor
MOBO: Gigabyte GA-H270-Gaming 3 ATX LGA1151 Motherboard
GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1060 3GB 3GB G1 Gaming Video Card
RAM: Kingston ValueRAM 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2133 Memory
SSD: Samsung 850 EVO 250GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive
HDD: Toshiba 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA G2 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply
Case: Fractal Design Define S w/Window ATX Mid Tower Case

I don't think I missed anything right? CPU cooler I heard that can just use stock one that come with the MOBO if not OC-ing.

I use mainly for gaming, for games like Overwatch, Dota 2, World of Warcraft, Diablo etc. Oh and my monitor is 1080p one.

mobo i won't comment much because the offerings for each mobo model is different. but do read this article to find out what u really want.

and if u want to save money further (the 200 series mobos cost at least 100 more than the 100 series counterparts), read this.

use the savings from the processor/mobo and get a better gpu. the gtx 1060 is not very powerful, only entry level gaming.

nothing wrong with value ram but the 200 (100) series mobo can utilise up to 2400mhz (2133mhz) so do take note.

m.2 ssd is fine but i rather take a sata one. also, i dun like samsung becuz i dun want to pay premium. do consider m.2 if u want it to look neat.

the psu is extremely overkill. if u are running a 1060/1070/1080, use a 450/550/(650 and above) psu. u are not exactly overclocking that justifies the need for such a powerful psu.

casing not gonna comment. i will build my pc in a cardboard if needed. but do look for ease of cable management to help decide your pc.

lastly, what is your budget?

edit: i noticed the games u play are generally fps. therefore, what is the refresh rate of your monitor? a higher refresh rate will definitely help your fps experience.

by refresh rate do you mean the response time? if so it's 4ms

i mean the hz. if your monitor is old, i am expecting a 1080p @ 60hz.

now, i think your budget is actually very healthy. 2k is actually quite overkill if u want to retain your monitor and cap your game to 1080p @ 60hz.

u could potentially do it for close to 1.1k, 1.3k if u want 'premium' parts and nice aesthetics.

my monitor is samsung 27" SD590 curved monitor. I think it is 60hz yes. May upgrade to 1440 in the future though for now maybe not yet

ooh do you have recommendations for which parts i should look at/replace from my list if I wanna do it closer to that range? (1.1-1.3k)

do read the mobo guide that i pasted earlier and come to your own conclusion what u need.

for basic users, a h110 is sufficient. but do read up on what u need. gigabyte, msi, asus are pretty popular. i dun like biostar, asrock but that's just me.

personal opinion but i dun see the need for premium gpu (gigabyte, asus, msi). do consider budget brands (zotac,palit) and in this case, get the amp! edition for them for their superior cooling.

psu i will narrow down to a few brands. fsp for budget, seasonic (although i personally dun like) and superflower (atas brand). 450w will do but if u intend to upgrade to 1070, get a 550w.

no such problem from my side. besides he can test and find out. if really got sound then get one. no harm done then.

Low RPM it will tick (click). Depending on your ambient sounds and case, that may/may not be noticeable.
