Hi Pros,

Gonna build my first PC, can anyone recommend me what components to get.

Computer currently will be used for playing dota 2 and surfing web/watch videos & microsoft 2013.

Currently only have PSU, friend gave me a Seasonic X-850W. Looking to buy Corsair Air 240 due to size constraint, therefore can only fit mATX, and would prefer white/black&red or black&gold theme if possible.

Need to get a monitor too, 1080p will be enough. Hoping that the computer can last for at least 5 years.

Internet will be connected directly, no adapter card is needed.

Budget $1500.00

Need any of these within the budget?

Windows
Monitor
Speaker
Keyboard
Mouse
WiFi adapter

Will your monitor screen position be facing any bright light source like window?

Which internet provider plan and router are you using?
Is your home in a relatively new apartment built in the past 8 years?
How far is your upcoming PC located from the router?
Any obstruction between your PC and router?

Hi Moneyface,

Need keyboard, windows & monitor also. For monitor 1080p/60Hz will do.

Monitor will not be facing window.

Currently using Singtel 1Gbps, will connect directly to PC, not using WiFi.

Just got my house slightly less than a year.

So strictly playing Dota 2 or looking to play other AAA games in the future?

Though not facing window but will any other light source affect the screen legibility? Light room ceiling lighting etc?

Actually not very sure about AAA tittles, other than dota 2 got play other steam games but not much. Maybe I will try Fall Out 4, not sure if this is considered as AAA.

For the light wise, got lighting in the middle of the room, not too bright but hopefully the monitor not too reflective. I rmb last time my office monitor too reflective, work until gong gong.:s22:

Nope no need. Why will you ask so?
You can do so if they have any useful update like performance optimisation.

If GTX960 medium settings on a 1080p monitor is it playable?

It's playable but if got budget get higher grade why not, for me I rather spent $100 more get 970 dun need worry abt fps at 90% game, because 960 is only a mid range
