So a little more than a year ago when I did a mini overhaul on my rig, I swapped out 2 of my Kingston v300 128gb SSD for Intel 730 Series SSD.

Fast forward a year, I'm currently heading to university to do study design full-time, and I'll be getting a Macbook Pro.

Those Kingston SSDs will not have much value right now (to be honest I bought those on a sale as well), so I'm thinking of repurposing those instead. I was thinking of getting an external SSD enclosure so that I can use it as a scratch disk for the Adobe suite when I need, or even temporary space to store some projects.

Anyone here can recommend a suitable USB 3.0 external enclosure? Or if this idea is even feasible in the first place.

beside that i would prefer if u can look into the type of controller they using will u a better idea of the speed of write and read.

It's a custom LSI Controller, read and write both up to 450MB/s, taken from the Kingston website.

I bought a Transcend USB 3.0 casing for my SSD as well. You can get it at a reasonable price during IT show. Normally its quite expensive.

Bought a Startech usb3 enclosure that supports UASP for around 20 usd from Amazon to house my Crucial M500. No complaints about performance (similar when it was connected to SATA3)
