Hi guys, not really that well informed on monitors of such size.. Had a friend who was using this Korean monitor, AMH 490U, which is 40'', 4K and it is VA panel. Seems pretty good and acceptable to me, but can't seem to find stock online.

Anyone knows something similar that is good? Might not really be keen in TN but VA should be acceptable. Just want it big and 4K @ 60Hz. :D

60Hz is fine, non adjustable stand is fine I guess for a monitor of this size, if need be I can buy those movable arms and mount it to the wall behind my workstation or something :s13:

to prevent screen tearing in games, play in windowed fullscreen mode.

to me 8bit 4:4:4 60hz panel is fine. if you want 10bit need to get the display port version ehich cost 600+

also all the 10bit monitors come with 8bit panel so no point

How's the quality/viewing angle of this panel, I had a look at it earlier but it doesn't provide much detail.

8bit 10bit not a big deal for me now since I no longer deal with photography these days, so not that anal on that aspect.

Is yours the Zen U430? The menu is in EN or KR language ah? :o

No DisplayPort right?

40 inch. i came from 27inch ips. actually i think va better because the blacks are really dark but for ips its gray. also no backlight bleed at the sides.

display port version cost 600+, the difference in price i thought better to upgrade graphics card instead. menu is korean can change to English.

viewing angle is between ips and tn. no noticeable color shift when i turn my head when playing games to look at corners of the screen. there is color shift if you sit at sides instead of middle

also have 3dead pixel on the same spot on top. doesnt affect on normal use unless you look at white background. lucky not at center mid.

panel is supposedly from samsung and after adjustment, color reproduction really looks like those $1000+4k tv from courts

I think a few dead pixel at this size is still okay if you are viewing normal stuff - I have a 1440p dell monitor in office but my office laptop cannot drive the resolution at 60Hz, so I have to do custom resolution, 1440p @ 30Hz. It displays it at 1440p but there are a lot of red dots at the sides, but if you don't intentionally stare at it, it wasn't noticeable .

I've already ordered the U430, now waiting for it to come and hope for the best :D
