Need Recommendation for Gaming PC ($800/-) * Edit budget to 1K

:s12:Hi everyone!

I want to build a PC mainly used for gaming (Guild Wars 2 in particular, Dota 2, BF4, Diablo 3, Assassin's Creed and other upcoming games)

Stuff that will be re-using: Keyboard, Mouse, SSD (128gb), Win 7 OS & Monitor (Currently 22" with intention of upgrading to AOC 27" sometime later)

For casing, I would like to get a smaller casing (About Bitfenix size, as it would be easier to carry to shop for repair in future), It would be great if the casing has some dust-proof protection.

Other requirements are : i5 processor, 2TB

Budget is around $800/-

Thanks in advance! :s12:

27inch on 1080p is no go bro. The pixels arent dense and very weird. Not sharp also.

Best is upgrade to WQHD 1440p monitor.

BF4 on 1440p monitor. He needs just about the best graphics cards on the market. The graphics card alone will go over his budget.

Core i5 + mITX motherboard = $350
8GB DDR3 RAM = $85
2TB HDD = $115
mITX chassis = $100

$800 - $350 - $85 - $115 - $100 = $150

You are left with $150 for graphics card lol.....

Please either raise your budget or buy 2nd hand Core i5 + motherboard and RAM

With such a small budget, dun go for haswell/4th gen. Go for ivy bridge/3rd gen.

And get the superflower HX600w psu, cheaper and more reliable than the CX500W.

Low budget dont go for all this specs. Not very appealing and most of the budget go to wrong stuffs already.

Expensive board. Do you need 2tb? Can go higher end gpu. Lousy psu. Expensive chassis.

*Revive my old thread* - with revised budget (Had to buy quickly as PC is dying soon. Used to be able to power up after 2-3 reset, now is based on luck :()

Okie so I'm going for these:

i5-4440 + Asrock h81m dgs ~ $298
Crucial 8gb 1600mhz ~ $89
Wd green 3tb ~ $147 (I have a WD 2 TB external drive also dying-- need to transfer data here and going to buy another external HDD)
Powercolor r9 280x Turbo Duo ~ $425
Samsung ODD ~ $21
---------------------------------
Around $980/-

Is the build okay? or need to adjust? I am still missing Power supply and Casing. (would want Matx casing).

Hm.. new budget is below 1.2k, need recommendation for Matx casing and PSU :D

The Matx casing that caught my eye so far:

BitFenix Prodigy

Silverstone Ps07

Silverstone TJ08-E

Lian Li Mini Q PC-V354

Any other casing to recommend?

I'm hoping that the casing can be well-ventilated (air flow?)

Okay, my PC is certified dead, both HDD and SSD undetectable.. tried unplugging and re assemble the sata cable but not working. Im guessing either the motherboard or the power supply spoilt.

This means I need to buy PC tomorrow.

Last check before purchase

CPU - i5-4570+Asrock H81-Dgs ~ $305
RAM - G.Skill 4GB Ram X 2 ~ $90
HDD - WD 3TB Green ~ $149
GPU - Power colour r9 270 2GB ~$260
PSU - FSP Aurum 500W 80+ ~$89
OOD -Samsung OOD ~ $$21
Case - Fractal Design Mini ~ ? Price?

Total excluding case is ~$914, not sure how much the casing cost..

Last check, did I missing out anything? Or any mistake like the motherboard or GPU cannot fit in the casing and etc?

Thank you for all the help!!

Hm.. Where is the next place I can go other than tradepac, the staff initially gave me a good price but after that claimed to have forgotten some parts and increases the price to much higher than what is on their price list. I wanted to go thru the list with him to show him the price error, he just say the price is according to the system and cant change. He then ask me to go other place to check for lower price.. =(

You should have ownself calculated roughyl then see if he is cheating you or not.

The next safe place would b pc themes. But their prices are RRP, and give small discounts nia. Your initial price that you posted is not valid, it will b much higher than that.

Approach mynextcom then... Some of their items are competitively-priced next to TP...
