Need recommendation for simple laptop

I need a laptop that is basically just for surfing net, use of Microsoft office applications and watching movies. No need for touch screen.

Size should be about 14" but can consider 13-15". Preferably with battery that can last at least 4-5 hours on light web surfing. Price under $1k if possible.
