Need recommendation on Mechanical Keyboards

Hi ALL !!
would like to ask around for recommendation on a good mechanical keyboard around the price range of $150-$250
if possible pls recommend me mechanical keyboards that can be bought locally in Singapore

mechanical keyboards also have their own subtypes catered to specific uses. go research on all the different switches.

used to use a R brand spider named mechanical keyboard; fell for the lighting gimmicks+extra function keys+clickity clack sound.
my personal experience which may not apply for everyone:
1. the only person who ever sees the "cool" lighting was myself so defeated the purpose of "gamer cred".
2. function keys was mostly left unused and extra keys and non-standard layout posed more as a obstruction to touch typing than not.
3. clickity clack felt "cool" and old-school at first, but after it sinks in its really just gaudy and noisy which can be a bother to others nearby who have to listen to incessant click clacks.
4. green lighting? i would have preferred blue more.
5. plastic keycaps felt flimsy and tend attract oil and feel sticky after using for many months.
6. never really used the headphone/microphone port since i'm more of an "audiophile" and preferred directly connecting to soundcard/DAC.

after falling out with "gamer"-styled products, i changed to a different R brand with T named keycaps.
1. No lighting, but doesn't affect me since i touch type.
2. PBT keycaps felt more sturdy and less prone to trapping oil and dirt from fingers thus more resistant to becoming sticky. texture also feels different but i liked it. the stickiness is really a plus for me and by more resistant i really mean A LOT more. stickiness really bothers me where i have to wash my hands and wipe the keyboard every single day before but with my current keyboard i only need to clean it once per month without being bothered by it.
3. the enclosure felt more sturdy too.
4. standard layout reduced touch typing errors and increased typing speed.
5. silent key actuations without compromising mechnical feedback. less is more. minimalist.

different people like different stuff. the stuff which you should look out for when finding your perfect keyboard:
1. keycaps, ABS vs PBT
2. switches, cherry mx, topre etc...
3. functions incl. lighting, osd, headphone port, function keys
4. design. gamer vs standard vs minimal
i would recommend my current keyboard but others may not have my preferences just as how i blindly went and bought many mouse based on others' recommendations, wasting a lot of money along the way, and finally settled on an orochi which no one recommended but i found the most comfortable.

TLDR: do your own homework and go try out keyboard samples in shops.

I would personally go for the K65 rapidfire if you play tons of fps games and dont mind losing you numpad. But if you type a lot of documents it can be frustrating at first

I am using Razer stealth cherry brown keyboard and I felt I could get a better and value keyboard. Anyway that's just for bragging right.

Ducky shine 6 and coolermaster pro l also looks nice. Had the asus rog claymore but it was defective. Got myself corsair k95 rgb platinum as replacement.

They have Ducky, DAS, Filco, HHKB, Leopold, WASD and other brands in stock. You'll be spoiled for choices.

I would recommend the Leopold 980M (whichever key you prefer)

Other notable places to check includes PC Themes and Tec-Dome (gaming stuff)

xtreme solutions seem to be priced at SRP or even higher because they only stocked the limited editions such as for Realforce KBs. their edition was $~100 more than standard edition found in other stores IIRC. if OP skin is thick enough you can just sample the KBs in the stores and source for the best price everywhere including online shopping. online seems to offer the lowest prices for computer parts nowadays due to not having rent. i'm saying this having bought my last pc from tradepac which already has the lowest price in SLS.

One of the worse service in simlim. When you walk in, the guy at the counter, that face like you own him money. When you try to ask a few more questions, he became impatient and his tone sort of change and such. Only thing great about this shop is they sell KBs no one else in simlim does. Do your research online then just go in, ask for the KB, check, pay and leave. That's what i did. Go in, ask, check, pay. Can't wait to leave that shop after payment. lol

Even the staffs at cybermind are much friendlier than them.

using the coolermaster masterkeys pro s rgb and it's quite a solid nice keyboard to have. bought it for the plain simple outlook. pricing was good too.

XS do sell in lazada as well. Just go in, have a feel of the kb, make sure its available in lazada, go home and purchase via online with coupons and CC rebates. Inclusive of delivery to ur house as well.

Anyway what are your opinions on the accompanying software? I find that logitech gaming software and razer synapse to be pretty intuitive. Corsair's cue has advanced features as well. Like macro recording, keystroke remap on top of the per key lighting customization. Cmstorm seems basic but workable. Asus armoury is the worst. Lighting seems to be customizable, but macro and even keystroke remapping working intermittently.

Based on the manual, ducky allows key remap and lighting customization without software as well. I think they do have software for that.

yea. one man's apple is another's poison i guess. i do game, but function keys at the side mostly just made me mispress buttons more when my hands try to get a positioning due to the non-standard layout. and i never used the synapse software except to turn off the lights on the mouse, so it was really just taking up resources on startup. i guess the actuation distance was a factor too since it was tuned towards gaming and when doing work there would be unintended double keypresses often. these are my own tastes, and as i advised TS it's really important to go sample himself as his would differ from everyone else too.

I'm thinking of getting the Logitech G810 rgb or corsair k70 rgb. Anyone has review on them?
