Hello, need to get a laptop for Poly use.

Looking for one that does not have a graphic card and preferably a SSD that is 15 inch and lightweight. As the course i take do not require me to get a laptop with a graphic card and the card will add weight and take away more battery life, i decided not to get one with a graphic card. Currently i am looking at ultrabooks such as Dell Xps 15.

Need some recommendations. Thanks!

Hello.

Would suggest waiting a tad bit longer for the Polytechnic Notebook show which would be held concurrently with your matriculation. :)

Depending on the course you are reading - some courses may require you to have a dedicated GPU on your laptop owing to software and course curriculum requirements - i.e. Autocad/ Revit / Premier Pro etc.

You may want to read up some replies found on this thread as there were many valid points raised.

Cheers!

Hello, i asked my lecturer already he says no graphic card is required.

I would prefer to get it at the IT show as prices on Poly notebook show are unknown.

Thanks :D
