Need recommendations for new gaming system

GTX 1070
monitor resolution is 2560 x 1440 @ 140hz
500GB SSD and 1TB Harddrive

I am currently running the above specs, initially wanted to wait for Ryzen 3 in July but it's too far. I am looking for the best value for money CPU+MB+RAM combo right now and preferably generating the least amount of heat when running at max speed. Best if the CPU has good overclocking room as well. Don't mind getting 2nd hand or brand new components. Thanks in advance!

sort by CPU and see which cpu cheap
u can buy cpu and ram from oversea. CPU got international warranty. RAM doesn't spoil that easily, othewise they won't give you lifetime warranty already.
Personally, mb tend to spoil a lot more than other components so I suggest local source.

I assume you are gaming with it with 140hz monitor
So I will recommend at least intel i5-8400 or i5-9400f or ryzen 5 2600
Ryzen as usual need 3200 mhz ram
For nowadays gaming, you need 16gb ram to handle all modern and future games

If you gonna oc the amd, you need a good mb. If not oc-ing, then a cheap mb will do. I would say get a mb that at least compatible with upcoming ryzen 3000. You can also go for 2600x if you don't wan to OC. OC is just to get it to 2600x performance level.

For intel, a cheap b360 mb will do.

Hi if you want best value for money CPU +MB +RAM combo then go for any B450 + Ryzen 5 2600. It will also generate the least amount of heat with suitable overclocking room. However, true overclocking headroom and least amount of heat do not match. The real overclocking headroom is with Intel Xeons but I doubt you would want that.

Best is to just go for Ryzen 5 2600 with 2800-3200 MHz ddr4 Ram in dual channel mode. It’s the best value for money right now for you.

For your existing cooler, you may need to find out the name of your cpu cooler and see if the AM4 motherboard you are buying will be supported. All the best!

i assume the cooler is bought the same time as your cpu
that would means that it wouldn't have am4 support out of the box
you can try to look up the manufacturer site to see if they have a upgrade kit

do note that some manufacturers sell their upgrade kit unrealistically expensive to point that it might be worth well to actually buy a new cooler

Thanks I have decided to go with b450 tomahawk, 2600 and dd4 rams. Where can I find the best bundle deals? Is SLS still a viable option or online shopping will be cheaper now? Have not kept in touch for a while.. Thanks!
