Hello, would like to get recommendations from the experts here for upgrading my PC.

maybe budget of couple hundreds dollars.

Current specs is as below - at least 7 years old:

Intel Core i5 (750) 2.66GHz + MSI P55-CD53 (http://www.pc-specs.com/mobo/MSI/MSI_P55-CD53/1399)
Team Elite DDR3 4GB Kit (2x2GB)
WD Blue 500GB*
Palit 512MB 250 GTS
Seasonic S12II-520* 80+ Bronze Power
Coolermaster 310 ATX
Dell U2315 x2

I only want to improve the performance (no lag when multiple applications are opened) and occasional light gaming.

Mobo + CPU: should be ok to stick with current antique, i guess

RAM: the MOBO limitation is 1333mhz and 16GB. Should i add on more rams (2x4GB) to my current 2x2GB? Or should i just replace with 2x8GB?

HD: should i change to SSD? is samsung evo still a great buy??

GPU: i'm using dual monitors and my needs are simple. any recommendations for a decent GPU on PCIe 2.0 x16 ?

Well base on ur mobo, i believe the ram support might be max 4gb per slots. anything higher might not work. so if u want will be add 1x4GB

Well yes u should get a SSD, can get Transcend SSD220S 480GB

Maybe u can get GTX 950 if u can up ur budget.
Palit GeForce GTX 950 StormX Dual 2GB GDDR5

if u know of any codes from lazada will be good.

Thanks for the quick reply!

Yes, you are right. will it work if i get 2x4GB in addition to my current 2x2GB to utilise all slots? Or 1x4GB + 2x2GB is good enough?

PC3-10666 DDR3-1333 240pin SDRAM DIMM, with maximum 4GB per slot in 4 (4 banks of 1) memory slots.

Transcend is better in terms of value for money? higher capacity at lower price?

Palit GeForce GTX 950- looks good. will this be an overkill for my simple needs?

well, u won't feel much with which ever SSD u go for since your mobo max speed is limit by sata 2, so it will be better to get cheap ssd with big storage.

well 16gb ram, do u intend to open a lot of chrome page like 50 or video rendering? if only games depends on which games, max required is 8gb for most games.

if GPU u find overkill den can consider GTX 750ti.

i see. not that many, but i do open about 20 tabs.

with my current 2x2GB, i see my memory utliisation at about 80% with 2GB reserved for hardware in task manager so i was wondering if i need more. but from what u mentioned, total 8gb sounds good enough.

will definitely consider both GPU.. thanks again!
