Need some advice from Taiwan experts.

Hi,

I am planning a 5 night trip to taiwan next year with my family

Thing is we do not need to spend more than 3 nights in Tpe.

I will be reaching Taoyuan at 12 Noon.

Can i ask if a planned itinerary of

Taoyuan -> cingjing(1st night) -> tarako -> hualian/yilan (2nd night) -> taipei

Is this feasible?

Which legs should i hire a taxi?

Any Taxi uncle recommendations?

It's not feasible..

By the time u reach CJ from Taoyuan since ur flight lands at 12 is like 4-5pm..No need to walk CJ cos most close shop liao..So next day have to walk CJ, by the time done..No point rushing over to Hualien..End up have to stay another night at CJ..

Next morning depart early to go Hualien, on the way u will tour Taroko as well..That's one day gone..4th day morning head back Taipei..

What about i skip CJ and go from tc to hualien through tarako on the 2nd day. Would that be better?

Slightly better...Why not skip TC/CJ altogether and spend 2N in Hualien??

It's a nice place to take a slow pace..And also since ur flight arriving in the noon, by the time u reach HL also 4-5pm earliest..

1st night settle in, visit a night market or the city area..2nd day book 1 day trip for taroko then end with a night market..3rd day travel back to Taipei..

That actually sounds quite good. I was initially thinking to bring them to fengjia. But your plan is not too bad.

Now i have to think how to get to and from hualian

The best way..

From Taoyuan Airport board Kuoguang Bus to Taipei Main Station, from there TRA(Train) to Hualien TRA Station..

You need to advance book for the train seats on this segment as they can run out very fast..Best to book return..Open for booking 14 days in advance, if need help in this, pls kindly pm Calkel20

If so rush, really is sit till back side...
Coz, you spend like 5hrs on the plane, 30mins on the bus(Fastest), then another 2h20mins on the train again...
Advise stay one night in Taipei before deciding on another long ride.

From taoyuan, go taichung. only 2 hrs by bus. just nice to check-in hotel then go eat ice cream and chiong fengjia nm. the next day do some shopping and eating at yizhong street before taking high speed rail to taipei (40min).

spend the rest of the trip in taipei before returning home.
