Not sure to post here or software clinic.

Been experiencing slow loading of file explorer on my newly built windows 10 system (1 mth old, specs -->)

When i open my file explorer and go to my other drive, it will lag for roughly 5-8 sec, sometimes it even open in a new window. This also happen sometimes on the main drive which is the SSD.

I have googled and have follow this procedure: https://www.tenforums.com/performan...ile-explorer-slow-never-loading-solution.html

And also installed malwarebytes and ccleaner, both shows PC is fine and running without issues.

Any advice please? :s11::)

Try this, right click on the folder>properties>customize>general items>apply and OK。

This one you can blame on Windows 10. It's the searching/indexing for Quick Access which is slowing down file explorer. I disabled it, which fixed the problem.

I had this when I clean installed Windows 10 1151 on my ivybridge thinkpad with explorer hanging.

Pretty sure one of the 1607 change logs did mention something about a fix for this. Issue was addressed since.

Already on general items :(

Disabled that too, helps a little, but sometimes still laggy. Can't believe my 5 years old system didn't have this problem on windows 10 but have it now. :eek:

"lagging" explorer is a windows 10 thing. you can downgrade to 8. Or use other file manager
