Hi all.

This is my first time posting here, so please pardon me if I say anything wrongly.

Currently, I am a pre-enlistee, and my enlistment date is on 5th October.
However, around the end of August, I accidentally fell while playing sports, and there is a crack on my bone, around the elbow area. Hence, my movement is pretty restricted.

I went to the specialist, and he sent me a letter to send which requests the MO to downpes me to pes C (Currently PesB) for around 6 months, and to put me into a modified BMT course. The specialist asked me to revisit him on 1st October.

The problem is. Do I pass the letter to mindef now, or on the day of enlistment? Because from what I heard, if I pass it in now, it may delay my enlistment date, and ultimately, my university admission in the near future. However, I am afraid there might be some complications if I give them on enlistment day itself.

Has anyone faced similar situations, or heard of similar stuff? Can someone advise on my next course of action please?:s11::s11:

If you hand in the letter now, it is almost inevitable that you will likely be pulled from your current enlistment date. Depending on how fast they process this PES review, you may end up missing the intake for your appropriate PES for the upcoming enlistment period and thus have to enlistment in the next cycle which I believe is next year.

It is better for you to just hand in the letter on the day of your enlistment, as you would have already enlisted so the clock will just start on that day. If you are not fit for that type of BMT, they will just pull you Out of Training.

However, it is also an offence to not disclose a known medical condition. The fact that you posted this on a publicly accessible forum, you kinda like can't hide the fact that you already know you got a medical condition.

fyi. you can apply to defer for your Uni admission for up to 6 mths from your remaining service. Not sure if is a maximum of 6 mths, and this duration is on a case-by-case depending on your ORD date and uni enrollment date.

the remaining months of service will be completed by you upon graduation.

Bring all your medical documents together during enlistment day. Next day straightaway go medical center show your documents/memos lor, they will process your medical fitness accordingly.
