if i dont need a zotac 970 can i trade it for a msi 760?

for the casing if i get a haf 912 no issues right?

H97 allows u to do RAID with hdd/ssd. If u dunnoe what is it, it means u dun need it. However, as B85 stocks are running low and prices of H97 are quite close to B85, one may opt for H97 if there are no stocks for B85.

970 and 760 are quite far apart. If u want to play the latest games, i suggest u go for 970.

Case is personnal, but CM cases are known to be meshy which will attract dust. but if u like the design, then why not?

It would be good to have good TIM (thermal paste) for your cpu if u r gonna OC. But if ur cpu cant OC, then the stock thermal paste + cooler from intel would do.

Intel stock cooler comes with its own TIM. It is crappy, but it will do its job. Since ur cpu cant OC, it wun produce loads of heat. So, just stick to it bah.

I presume that you wanna get 8.1. There is nothing wrong with OS preferences.

One do not go around comparing what OS is needed for own use.

Anyway,

For SSD are you getting crucial mx100?

Nothing wrong with Windows 8, just that it has a rather different GUI from older Windows OSes and hence I want to be sure that TS knows what is he getting into before buying Windows 8.

Also, I seem to have heard of several users complaining of memory leak issues when using Windows 8. Have they fixed this yet?

Yes there is. But a naked eye wont be able to tell the difference. Unless you want those milliseconds to count.
