Hi Guys,
I am currently using a Core i7-950 with Gigabyte X58A-UD3R on 24GB RAM, GFX is a Palit Geforce GTX 670 2GB. The only gripe I'm really having is the performance of the SATA 3 is really not up to standard. granted that this motherboard and CPU is 3 years old now, but the RAM are only less than a year old(just upgraded last year).

Is it advisable to upgrade to Core i7-4770K? which brand of motherboard should I generally go for? I am quite intrigued by Asus offering of the Z87-Deluxe as it has wireless and Bluetooth as well. But I am open to options as well... I want to try dabble into a little of OC to see how far I can go "safely".

what do u mean by performance of SATA3 is not up to standard? there's a possibility its some configuration issue (e.g. AHCI) rather than a problem with the mobo+cpu combo itself...RAM has nothing to do with this so its not relevant lei.

if u upgrade your system now i dont think the performance difference will be worth the money spent.
