Need some commends on itinerary

Hello guys!

I'm going taiwan in march. Have a rough itinerary planned out. But unsure abt some stuff. Hope u guys can help out!

I'm intending to go taichung(1n)>cingjing (1n)>hualien(2n) intending to take the OK bus from cingjing to hualien but not sure if they need min travellers? There's only 2 of us. Then 3 nights in Taipei

Or should I do it this way?

Taichung >cingjing>taipei>hualien> then straight to taoyuan airport?

IMO should go this way

Taichung --> cingjing --> huailien --> Taipei

Another way can be Hualien -> Cingjing -> Taichung -> Taipei if you want to minimize the lost time in Taichung since you will only be there for 1 night as compared to 2 nights in Hualien.

Thanks for recommendations. I wanna go taichung >cingjing as I'll be landing on sat morning. Hope can make it for the sheep sheering show. Not sure if it's worth it to spend 3 nights in Taipei. Been to jiu fen and shi fen before don't find it nice.

Depends what is your itinerary for Taipei?

If not you can consider to go 宜蘭.

Better to have taipei as last stop, as it is closest to the airport and no need to rush to catch plane.

yup agree. and i always last day go to buy chia te sun biscuit.
wake up 7+am eat hotel breakfsat. then 8am take train then walk 3 stops to chia te reach abt 8+am just nice haha.

coz 9am onwards many ppl queue up alerady. one day was on tour with ah hao, then asked him to bring us there. was alot of ppl at 6.30pm ... then told ah hao bring us to tong hua street instead haha...

jifen abit boring for me since went 3x already haha.
shifen just to put sky lantern. sky lantern is 150 - 200ntd depending on how many colors you choose lol ....

jiufen and shifen is very long journey. takes 4 hrs excluding waiting time ...
very ma fan haha ...!!!

I'm taking night flight Scoot. So reach 6am in the morning. Thinking of chionging to sml straight but dunno very xiong anot like that. So many hours on transport. But cannot check in yet leh. So very headache on planning

If I didn't get the wrong info from the guide, sky lantern can only be released in Pingxi and Shifen.

How you getting from Taichung to SML?
If you can sleep well on plane + train, should be all right

You are right on. Unless it is a special event, permission granted, if not it is illegal.

old birds here will tell you to skip sml as it is full of china tourists. TC got places of interests of its own, and puli nearby also got. If you're the shopping type, can spend the afternoon at yizhong street and in the evening at fengjia nm.

Hualien nothing much to do. 1 night there should be enough. You can spend more time in greater Taipei by visiting yangmingshan, jiufen, shifeng, wulai, maokong, etc, besides the usual touristy places.
