Thanks all the gurus here for input. I did a replan as I want a more relax trip. So thinking of going either hualien or taichung only for 4 nights the Taipei for 3 nights. Which is more recommended?

4 nights in Hualien is an overkill.

Then how abt 1n at taichung > 1n cingjing > 1n sml> 1n alishan? I heard hualien is nice I wanna go hualien leh. But the car journey from cingjing is so long and ex. There are only 2 of us.

Plan for visit is good but don't forget your lunch or dinner, sometime it is difficult or miss out your favourite food in Taiwan.

Yah, abt 3+ hrs ... taichung railway station to cingjing or sml ...

Ya lor I intend to put sky latern in hualien instead.

I'm taking night flight Scoot. So reach 6am in the morning. Thinking of chionging to sml straight but dunno very xiong anot like that. So many hours on transport. But cannot check in yet leh. So very headache on planning

me too taking scoot... need wait at airport for the sim card shop to open at 7am... haha.

maybe you can go taichung via bus instead of hsr so can sleep on bus and no need change here and there?
