Hi everyone

Some questions:

1. Will be staying at YMCA salisbury hotel near TST mtr station. Anyone stayed there before and know the deposit amount they collect during check in? I have emailed to their reservations but got no reply. I need to prepare the money before going.

2. I have an 8 day plan up but was referring to the google map for directions on travel from point to point. But some parts are unclear. How do i go from TST to ocean park? The google map show no results so i assume the distance is too far? What is the fastest mode (not taxi)?

3. Is the travel time from TST to macau still 6 hours now? How do i go to Macau from tst? What is the fastest mode? How is it like at the Macau customs do i have to show my passport? Anything important?

I do not have a credit card. I can pay cash but have to prepare the money first before going. What is OW? How do i take the fast ferry? Where is it?

I stayed at YMCA Salisbury before, but because my deposit was by credit card, so I don't remember the exact amount, I'm sorry.

For Ocean Park, just take MTR to admiralty station, follow the signs that say "Bus to Ocean Park" or something like that. Once you get out from the right exit, turn left and there is a counter selling ocean park tickets and/or the bus ticket to ocean Park. If you have the octopus card, don't need to buy the bus ticket anymore. You can just buy the ocean park ticket at the counter, then join the queue to board the bus to ocean park right next to the counter. That bus is a dedicated bus that plows between ocean park and admiralty station.

There are ferry services to and fro Macau from Hong Kong Island and Kowloon. Don't just depend on Google map for directions. Please also Google for text explanations. There are a lot of sites explaining in details how to get to the ferry terminals and even tell you exact steps on buying the ferry tickets etc.

Is the bus to ocean park from admiralty a one way? Does the bus serve the return route as well back to admiralty? Are there any alternative besides coming back to admiralty from OP?
What is the bus timing like?

Noted on the macau ferry. The time is 1 hour sailing now, it is so much better compared to 6 hours. Gosh!

How do i get from HK park to The peak?
And from The peak temple street

For Ngong Ping Lantau island, is it a more convenient way to go from TST by taking the MTR rather than star ferry?
So meaning for MTR - East TST - Tuen Mun - Nam Cheong station - Tung Chung
to get to the cable car

How do i get from Tai-O after visiting the major places in Lantau? Like after seeing tian tan buddha, polin monastery, heart sutra, wisdom path
How do i get from Tai-O back to TST?

Similar case for Nanlian gardens and chilin nunnery, is it a more convenient way to go from TST by taking the MTR rather than star ferry?
So meaning for MTR - TST station - Tsuen Wan - Prince edward station - Tiu Keng Leng - Diamond hill station
Going to cover nanlian and chilin in the morning followed by man fat sze and kowloon walled city park in the afternoon as the city park is nearer back to hotel

Thats all for now

Seriously, stop relying on Google map for transport directions. All the routes you listed are like ridiculous detours. You look at it for general directions, not exact route, at least not in Hong Kong.

I have no idea where in the world did that 6hrs journey from HK to Macau come from, seriously. Where did you read that from??

Go Google HongKongExtras.com and read up. They have pretty detailed directions to most places that you wanna go. Use that, together with a map of HK MTR and you'll get your answers.

from memory :

same bus there & back from OP to Admiralty or other buses to CWB. like i said, google getting to OP

hk park can walk to the Tram Station at Cotton Tree Drive, take the Peak Tram up to Peak or walk to Exchange Square to take public bus to Peak or cab it. google getting to Peak

Peak to Temple St - take tram back down, take MTR

The Cable car to Big Buddhha is at Tung Chong - need to take MTR
The ferry from HK to Lantau does not go to TC iirc. You have to change to bus to get up Lantau Peak

local bus from Lantau Peak to Tai-O. google it

Tai-O ferry back to HK Island, then change to Star Ferry to cross over to TST

Go Chilin, take MTR ... dont know why ferry, its not near ferry terminal ... to Hung Hum ?

You could read up a little from the websites of HK tourism board and the respective attractions. Hope they help a little.

Ocean Park MTR station may have opened by the time you are there (if I'm not wrong).

But if it isn't, take a train to Admiralty, then follow the instructions to take a bus to Ocean Park.

Walk from the park to the Peak Tram station nearby.
And from The peak temple street
Are you sure? Temple Street is in Kowloon.

The Star Ferry serves HK and Kowloon. Not Lantau.

Reminder to TS. For HK, when planning to go to attractions like Ocean Park or cable car or Disney or 3D musuem etc, buy online beforehand using Klook etc. Or reach HK liao, then buy at travel agencies like Dingding.

If you queue up to buy at Ocean Park, may kena long queue. If yoi queue up for cable car, ish very long queue. Buy beforehand and skip the queuing.

For Lantau Island, avoid going on wkends. If going on wkend, wake up 7 early 8 early. Or you will kena super super duper duper long queue. I kena before and changed to go Cheung Chau.
