Hello people of the fourms, first post and asking everyone for some help and advice.

Currently in BMT PES BP. Have already gotten like 10days+++ MC already. My question is that.
Can they OOC/OOT me for being MC for more than 30 days
since my higher ups said they would OOC/OT those that accumulated more than 30 days of MC.
MO has wanted to OOC me due to condition, but i rejected the offer since if i OOC my girlfriend would not be able to see me POP.
Currently still in the 4th week of the 19 week program.

And I’m not sure where you place your brain.

Would your gf prefer not seeing you during POP or she prefers not seeing you alive for the rest of her life?

Your focus should be on health, because without full health and adequate fitness don't talk about POP.

Anyway, what medical condition is this? Is this recurring or acute?

It's been an on and off thing,where i had childhood asthma and when i ran everytime during PT, the attack would start. But i would really like to POP and afraid that if i OOC/OOT from BMT and they can't down pes me then it would be a waste of time and i would need to go back to tekong again.

Talk to your PC about your problem and ask him what is the max amount of MC you can take before OOT.


You had childhood asthma and when i ran every time during PT, the attack would start. I am not sure if MO is going to downpess you or not but your medial condition not suitable for combat training.

If MO don't downpes you, you just have to keep going to BMT recourse and waste your time until ORD. I have seem cases of someone who have a real medical problem not suitable to serve NSF and keep throwing to a new units within months (cause he cannot downpes to F) but commanders dare not deploy him to do even simple work.

The last thing you should even care is about your girlfriend going to see you POP. You are only in 4th week of the 19 week program and a lot of things can change and cannot give a confirmation when you are serving in SAF. You only have 1 life and girlfriend may change, get it?

if every 5bx run you feel asthmatic, then i would consider it serious or even chronic. maybe you can get a second opinion on a PES downgrade if your condition persists/worsens. if they insist on OOC-ing you, you can't resist also. nobody wants to see another training death.

otherwise, try to participate in training as much as your body allows. running aside (meaning IPPT and SOC affected), there are still components like range/SIT Test/field camp/24km. the most you fail IPPT/SOC cannot go command school, but as long as you completed the other BMT veto components, which do not trigger your asthma easily, you can still scrape through BMT.

seems like your concern in posting this post is about your girlfriend not able to see you to POP. If your physical condition does not warrant you to complete/pass BMT, I supposed your girlfriend will not want you to push yourself to what your body cannot handle.
