Need some help for $1.5K gaming rig

Hi all, I have a budget of about 1.5K and I want a relatively high end rig capable of playing new games on high/ultra. I have a rough idea of what I want, i5 with GTX 970, but need some help choosing the GPU manufacturer and motherboard. Should I pay extra for MSI or just go with Palit/Zotac?

I don't need a monitor or Windows, but I need new speakers and mech keyboard + new gaming mouse. Currently eyeing ducky shine zero and Logitech G402.
