Hi to all of you, travel experts...

In December last year, i went for a solo trip to HK for 8 days. It was a great trip.

This year i am looking at a 10 day trip, probably early Nov or mid-end Dec.

I am more of a scenic person, more than a shopping kind like 80% scenic and 20% shopping. I like taking beautiful pictures when travel .

Currently explore 2 options

1. Bali (have nv been there before)
2. Kyoto (if i am ambitious enough, because japan is expensive)

So i am appealing that if you guys have great ideas for a 10 day trip, not too hot places, generally safe that can go the stated period and have great scenery views, please suggest me...thanks and really appreciate it!!

Been to Koh Lipe (Thailand) this year, highly recommend if you like island surrounded by 3 beaches.
I did, Langkawi, Koh Lipe and Penang for 8 days, cost is low in these places. Nov and Dec are high season for Koh Lipe so weather is good.

Early Nov or mid Nov, I'd suggest Kyoto if your budget allows. If you aren't too early, you can probably catch Koyo (autumn foliage). However, you need to make your bookings ASAP if you intend to do Kyoto, because it's considered as a peak period.

I went in mid Dec last year, and although there's not much autumn foliage left, there's still a few random red leaves trees around. And the temple gardens/landscape scenary were still absolutely stunning, even without the colours.

What are the attractions at Koh Lipe?

I would prefer to base in Koh Lipe and fine with day trips to surrounding islands. Can cover for 10 days? I do not want to jump to malaysia/langkawi etc...

Yes Kyoto is a beautiful place and i have always wanted to go, less the opportunity and $. When is their Autumn months?

For my 10 days i have plan to be anytime from 1st Nov-13th Nov or if december it is 13th Dec to 24th Dec.

I am still exploring more options for Scenic travels

Depends on the weather, but generally it's mid Nov for Kyoto.

Here's the 2017 koyo forecast for the various regions in Japan:

Edit:
Just sharing - Below pic was taken on 18th Dec (I was in Japan around the same dates 13th~21st Dec) at Tenryuji Temple garden in Kyoto. Even though there's no more koyo, it's still very beautiful.

nice, but you could have got a better camera.

I am not sure if i can make it to japan eventually, so i am exploring more options. It would be good if there are alternatives to Japan

Koh Lipe is quite ulu, so main activities will be island tour, snorkelling, diving, beach walking, sea sports and some shopping at the walking street.
Koh Lipe do not have a airport, so you need to take ferry from Langkawi or Hat yat (Thailand). Island alone 4days the most, unless you are a beach lover.

The whole of Taiwan is beautiful, there are too many places to choose for 10 days. I diy once and take tour once round the whole Taiwan in 9 days but tour only scratch the surface of Taiwan.

Do you know which part of taiwan has more scenery, more farm more greenery etc? Like what one say Taichung/alishan?

Like eg as i am not shopping person, i didnt choose tokyo for japan but kyoto. Because i know most go to tokyo when they are in japan, but tokyo to me is commercialised and much crowded in that sense.

What's your budget. Bali is really beautiful and low cost. I've been there 3 times.

It has mountain, beaches, rice paddy fields, temples view. Depending on where you go. 10days is enough to visit alittle of each IMO.
The sister island Lombok is also beautiful similar to Bali but more ulu (untouched and natural).
If you are adventurous, you can go climb Mt Batur for even better scenic view.

I purposely buy a action camera for taking picture and video for my island trip.

Thank you. Scenic travel more impt than budget actually. Did you go to bali alone? How many days and where did you stay? If i just base same accomodation in bali for whole 10 days, is it difficult to move to other places if they are too far like ubud?
