Thank you. Scenic travel more impt than budget actually. Did you go to bali alone? How many days and where did you stay? If i just base same accomodation in bali for whole 10 days, is it difficult to move to other places if they are too far like ubud?
If scenic travel is more impt than budget then just go New Zealand. 10days you can cover afew major city and the scenery is guaranteed.

I think if TS can set a rough budget on 10days, then it will be easier to suggest place.

with your budget definitely more than enough for your so called ambitious places of you're looking for scenery and not shopping.... Unless you're those who need to stay in 5/6 stars hotel... if 5k no problem, just go NZ or Iceland.

Agree, 3k -5k is a lot.
My last trip include shopping less than 2k.
I think 3k you can have a lot of fun in Taiwan, if you stay in 3* hotel, you will have some spare cash when you come back.

But if japan kyoto, even if staying in ryokan, also not enough right??

Bali is ok, but taiwan wise need to be somewhere that more scenic to stay and more assess to scenic attractions

Enough la, why not enough. Just book early.

Ironically ryokan is more expensive than normal Japanese business hotel because of the meals they usually offer together with the accommodation. Maybe you can do some research first before writing Kyoto off so fast.

Hi guys, i am stuck between 10 days Bali or kyoto. Reason being i have been to taiwan before so i am thinking of a new place this time.

Dec doesnt seem to be a good time to visit Bali due to the wet season and the rain but i am still putting it an option with kyoto for their scenery.

Anyone can advise here, also in terms of attractions and cost

If you want to talk about cost comparison, then obviously bali will be cheaper. Although Kyoto isn't as ex as what many would have imagined, particularly if you don't need atas hotels that came with concierge, still have to bear in mind that just airtickets and transport alone, Kyoto will be higher than Bali already. Also, most temple grounds with very awesome gardens require admission fees (roughly a few hundred yen to a thousand). What you want to eat also determines your expenses, obviously. Some people love to go for Michelin stared food in Japan, or fine dining, but some are OK with yoshinoya or discounted bento from Takashimaya food hall when they are almost closing.

But how much roughly you will need - that really depend on individual, whether what you will eat, where you'll be going, etc. Honestly, please do your research - no one can do it for you without knowing what/where exactly do you want to do/go in Kyoto / Bali.
