Need suggestion

I had my pc build at aftershock last year. Since the 1st day i got it, when i play game, the game play i play was not smooth despite high fps. I thought maybe its the monitor 60 hz( i got it from them) So i brought a Acer xb241h but the gameplay is still choppy, its even worse when some games drop to like 80-90 fps. So i decided to bring it to them for check. They said its ok nothing wrong with it and my Cpu temperature was like 80- 90 Gpu 84 on full load, they said temperature also normal. My warranty is until next year. Is it wise to go to Sim Lim ask for another opinion?

My Specs i7 7700@4.2 16 GB ram@2400 GTX 1070. Games i played are like LoL, Csgo, Overwatch and PUBG

How is it "not smooth" if your FPS are above 90?

With a 1070 GTX at 1080p gameplay should not be choppy.. 80-90 fps is perfectly playable FPS. Do you run gsync on with your monitor.

Are you running games at 144hz refresh rate ?

monitor 60 hz means no matter what fps u can achieve, its capped at 60 fps. Then again, 60 fps is alr smooth as heck.

Im running at 144hz + gsync. Its very obvious when playing First person shooter games, the movement, actions and when you move/look left and right its so choppy, Like i mentioned even worse when is below 90(For example PUBG at big cities). Yeah i always seen post like '' solid 60fps smooth as butter, but not in my case.

Its updated to the latest. I always update drivers to latest like audio, chipset, LAN

Somehow, I have a feeling it's about your expectation vs the reality? Or if your suspicious is true, try run an overlay like MSI Afterburner and see do you have frame drops due to CPU/GPU/HDD bottleneck or not.

If budget allow, upgrading to GTX 1080 ti or RTX 2080 could solve your problem by blasting more frames (and min. frames) so improve the smoothness.

how can his i7-7700 or gtx 1070 be bottleneck with those games that he plays? upgrading to 1080ti/2080 is just a waste of money, he already found it to be choppy when he was using a 60hz monitor.

my suspicions are either it was not choppy, it's all in your mind OR it's malware/virus/drivers issue...sometimes latest drivers gives you issue but then again you said you already have this problem since day 1.

Perhaps ts can upload and share a gameplay video of your so called choppyness that you describe and let us all see what is this choppyness that you are talking about? With your specs it should be buttery smooth at 60hz.

Or do you mean stuttering in game?

And your gpu and cpu temp seems abit on the high side.

Did u do it using RTSS? Put 60/61 for 60HZ monitors, worked for me.

What i'm guessing he meant is 60hz monitors can only output 60fps at most anyway, so ultimately thats what u get even if the software says u get 300 fps.

No one plays those games at monitor refresh rates. Player playing at 200fps using 60hz monitor does see better performance over another one playing at 60fps with the same 60hz monitor. Check YouTube...
