Need urgent help!

Hi guys

Something happened to my macbook pro [either the MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014) or (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015)] loaded with OSX High Sierra. Last Friday it was working perfectly fine when I was showing some photos to a client. After showing the photos, I merely cover the MBP without shutting down.

2 days later which was last night, I wanted to look at the photos but when I lifted the MBP cover... there was only black screen. I have tried all ways by plugging the power cord, resetting the NVRAM and resetting the SMC. Nothing helps. I can hear the startup sound but the MBP just remains in black screen.

If you have encountered such problem or know what happened, please let me know because I need the MBP for work. Thank you!

Have you tried booting up the Mac into safe mode?

Could it be a hardware problem? Like a faulty screen or graphics card

Another info, my MBP was kept very healthy with more than 50% disk space in HDD. I regularly housekeep my files.

Try connecting it to an external display.

If...

- the external display shows something. it probably means that your LCD is dead or the connection may be loose
- nothing lights up. your GPU is most likely dead.

Alternatively you can try putting your Mac into Target Disk mode to boot up on another Macintosh computer.
But you'll need another Mac for that.

If external monitor also blank screen then probably it’s the GPU/graphics card giving issues - most likely need to change GPU.

You don't really need the screen to drop into Target Disk Mode.

Hm, a logic board replacement is usually around 1k (do correct me if I'm wrong though)

check with my go to Mac repair shop, X Planet at Plaza Singapura. They can quote you before repairs.

i had my MBA motherboard repaired for $220 2 mths ago.

find a friend with a Mac then try boot in target disk mode.
