Netgear R8000 problem witth Apple devices

Hi all,

need help (i have posted this in Internet section as well)...

I am using MyRepublic 1GBps internet connection.

Just bought a Netgear R8000 and setup was relatively easy.

I got internet connection with both wired and wireless.

However, on my late 2013 Macbook Pro and iPad mini, they can't connect to either the 2.4ghz or 5ghz point.

On my Windows laptop and LG G3 smartphone, no problem.

so definitely the Netgear is ok.

What can I do?

Follow this article under make a new location and attempt to connect to your network again

Using network locations (Mac OS X v10.6 and later)

As for your iPad try doing a reset all network.

Change the Preamble Mode (in the wireless section of your router/AP) to 'Both' or 'Long'.

Hi all, thanks for suggesting...

The problem has been solved.

How ? I don't exactly know.

What i did was reset the router, and change my password to alphanumeric. Previously I included a "#" in my password.

Now all equipment can connect.

Was it password or hardware reset that did the trick ? I don't know

what was your wireless security settings? for apple devices, WPA/WPA2 Personal should be fine, there can be problems sometimes if you use WEP

Agreed. The current firmware is stable, R8000 no regret buying. Currently serving around 10 devices at home without issue. MioTV, Apple TV, few iPhone and iPad, MacBook and few Samsung phones. And best of all, my relative staying beside my unit also connect to my R8000. Previously using Asus N66U, cannot make it. Someone watching movie all kenna slow down like snail.. my 2 cents.
