For me, I am planning to do most of my shopping, etc. in JB once RTS opens. For now, I'll stick to my $5 (3 meat + 3 veg) daily cai fan.

I'll get whack by d jhks in my area for $7 n abv for 3 meat n 3 veg's. Envy u.

What to do? 2.5 m foreigners makes it look like Singapore got so many ppl, hawker shd make money. But in reality most young ppl are foreigners and most old ppl are local. Our hawker depend on young ppl cannot survive because young ppl like mala or viet or Myanmar food because they are from that country.

It's easy to mitigate this

Have a deposit policy of 50% for every order. Nowadays it's v convenient to make payments. QR code, paynow, bank account, etc. No excuse for restaurants to say difficult to pay deposit.

Ironically those hawkers who don't anyhow raise prices are doing ok.

No need to simi urge.

My side hawker centre will be closed for reno for 3 months and many of them are going holidays.

They always have my support.

those old airport road hawker never raise price but food is nice so people go. some only work during weekdays

Tok so much sh1t... Last time said we self service.. Bring cost down.. Food cheaper.. Then recently scam us told us clear and return the tray.. Food will be cheaper.. Only dumb sinkies believe in such thing..

Hawker center is cheap compared to kopitiams or shophouses or shopping center, those that complain about rent can try hawker

Support more then greedy landlord will raise rental more. Increase margin suppose to go into f&b but go into the landlord instead. Lppl
