hi all, keen to get feedback for the building below with a budget of about 3.5K

3700X + MSI B450 Gaming Pro Carbon AC
2x 8GB G-Skill 3200mhz RAM
Seasonic FP GX-650W full gold
EVGA RTX 2080 super super xc ultra
ADATA XPG sx8200 pro 1TB nvme m.2
Casing (TBC)
Original Windows 10 Home
Gaming Monitor model TBC (27" 1440P)

i would either go 3600+2070 super or 3600+5700xt.

I think 2080 super is in an odd spot due to its extra $500 price premium. 2070 super and 5700xt do pretty well at 1440p 60hz and 1440p 144hz non triple AAA. If you think another $500 is worth the extra 10-15fps, then its your decision.


i wouldnt recommend 3700x at this stage when Ryzen 4000 is around the corner unless you dont intend to upgrade in the next 3-5 years.

Use the money you saved for a
1) better ram(preferably one that has better subtimings) or
2) a better mobo if you intend to upgrade to a 12c/16c when ryzen 4000 is out next June. Phison E18 will be out in 2020 if you want proper PCIE 4.0 SSDs

Thats what i did. i got myself 3600+msi unify+teamgroup xtreem ddr4. i will sell the cpu once ryzen 4000 is out.

Everything else looks fine. For mouse i recommend waiting for Black friday sale for Glorious Gaming Models on their website. They have intl warranty. Local sets might have the older stocks with poor cables.

Note that the SSD of your choice use SM2262EN controller. While it is fast, it does become very slow when near full, as slow as a near full intel 660p aka budget ssd.

Glorious mouse has international warranty? Means local distro will service even if bought from overseas site?

I said when u buy them from their website and if u need to rma, u send it back to them. they will reship to u FOC.

Both the SM2262EN and Phison E12 have their pros and cons. I would suggest you stick with the Adata SX8200 Pro which is better value for money than the Samsung. If you intend to use close to 1 TB, suggest you get the 2 TB version instead or use the 1 TB in conjunction with your old SATA SSDs.

Samsung 970 is powered by "Phoenix" controller and is top of the line in the market. Since it is top of the line, it is also the most expensive nvme.

People often compare SM2262EN with Phison E12.

Phison E12 does not run as fast as SM2262EN at non-full but it run faster than SM2262EN at near full. Phison E12 based nvme has the best price/performance but unfortunately, it is only available in USA thus you gonna need to buy from oversea. Likewise, warranty will be troublesome too and nvme SSD has higher failure rate than normal sata SSD.

It doesn't show the near full performance. While 1tb isn't small, it isn't exactly big either.
