i need to build a new rig, which need to support photoshop, revit, autocad stuff, any recommendation for budget of 2K, including or monitor?

if dunnid urgently, can wait for ryzen 4k and rtx 30 series/big navi to come out later this year. now is a really bad time to build pcs.
otherwise getting a 3rd gen ryzen 7 or 9 and a decent gpu like a 2070s or better will suit your needs well. u can also consult the pc rig recommendations thread by moneyface, though the prices may have changed, especially now with covid.

Tech very hard to chase. Wait for new batch of new arrivals.. later come out price too high wait for it to drop then oh next gen coming out again. Forever never ending.

Only real world recommendation for Intel is hard core gamers that ONLY game or view gaming as their no.1 objective. Else it should always be an AMD Ryzen as of right now!

Nowsaday only use my Ryzen 3900x for vmware and 7zip, the only two software that can 100% utilise the cpus. But, if your software can multitasks with above 12core, go with the Ryzen.


Happy with the 2 weeks old 9900k build. All the old software from office, adobe to autodesk runs very smoothly.

sorry now with new architecture and AMD should be Risen9 3900X more cores, more multi threads and cheaper cost!!

Ok I’m sorry, I am too used to Intel from 2004 to 2018.

Quick tip! AMD used to make both CPU and GPU chips and have their own foundry for fabrication domination of the entire market in the pre-2000.

Money saved from going Ryzen can allow you to get a higher tier GPU so you can get better gaming performance by going Ryzen. Unless you have unlimited budget of course.
