Good day all,

I'm not sure if I'm in the right forum but I seriously need some help regarding my new custom built PC.

The Specs are;
ASUS H170M Pro Gaming + i5 6600
Palit JetStream GTX970
2x8gb Ram (Basilik Crucial) *AMAZON*
EVGA Supernova 650W GS *AMAZON* *Used my old plug from my old PC*
250gb Zotac SSD
1tb WD blue

All are bought from singapore, but my PSU and RAM are from amazon.

The Issue is that my com sometimes will hang and then crash.

Please help. THANKS THANKS!

Does your pc hang totally, end up must hard reset it? If so, maybe my solution will work for u.

I have the same mobo + cpu combo as yours. There is some firmware update to this mobo, but what fixed it for me was when i turned off cstate in bios.

The range of error that causes it, could your graphic card, software or hardware issues, HDD/ssd failure, poor installation of components, cables spoil etc. So it's hard for us to know what and how it causes these problems :p

We are not gods man, we can't solve the issues wuthout knowing where to begin...

Hello! Thanks for your reply.
There is no error message at all. Except that one time at the bios error, it says power surge.

However I'm not getting that anymore.
I've downgraded my Nvidia driver to 362.00 instead of 364.72
I'm using windows 10 and I received notes that it could be the issue with the OS as it is still not stable.

And also, the PSU is about 1 month old?
I bought it last month on the 28th of March.

I set up my whole desktop on the 13 of April

Lastly, the crashes always happens when I'm gaming

Ok JasonX! Thanks for your reply, I'll try it out.
Will update here in 2 weeks times.
It happens rarely tho. About once every 2 weeks on average.

You say you bought your PSU from Amazon? It could be that the PSU is not compatible with your SG plug. Our plugs have ground but in this case, the PSU's connection might not have the ability to connect to that part of the wiring. That's what happens if you get a US equipment with no ability to prevent power surges till you need to get a surge protector.

Anyway, solution.
1) You can try to reset the CMOS on your motherboard first to prevent re-occurrence of this problem.

2) If it still happens and you believe wholeheartedly that your PSU is good, then you can disable Asus's 'Anti Surge Support' in the UEFI/BIOS.

My Asus Z170 Deluxe used to double POST too when I first bought it in December. After BIOS update and tweaks, no more. Now even defaulting my UEFI, it doesn't double POST. Thankfully.

Googling online shows people with a similar Asus MOBO who also encountered the same problem as him when gaming. So I gave a solution that might help him. Or he can just google himself. :s13:

no such thing, PSU from amazon will work in SG

Just be sure the voltage selector switch is on 230volts and not 100/110volts and a UK Power cable

I know right. What a huge lie. My M.2 NVME 950 Pro SSD boots up slower than my older SATA 850 SSD.
And sadly, I don't get the full speed on Windows due to my ESET antivirus slowing it down.

What game may I ask?

CS:GO & Dota2
But its not about the games because these 2 games are the only one that I played.

Idk about that, I didnt have any voltage selector switch or something, I just reuse my old cable from my old desktop.

Yup, mine fixed after i turned off cstate in bios.

I just switched off my intel c-state in the BIOS. Hope everything runs well.
We shall see in 2 weeks.

THANKS ALL FOR YOUR REPLIES!

The solution that i'm trying out right now is to turn off my c-state in my bios and see how it goes.

Good day all,

the solution that i've used is; disabling the intel c-state in my BIOS menu.
However, the problem still occur and it just happened before I switch my com on again to type this message here.

Is there any other solution?
I believe that it is the software issue because when I switched my com on, there is no message regarding the power surging or anything.

thanks all for your help
