New Computer, Old OS?

If I buy a new computer, but have an existing ssd which has the OS, will it work if I just 'plug' it in?

The thing is, my disk is for win7. If I reformat the ssd, and install using my disk, I don't think can still upgrade to win10, right?

Probably not, all the drivers and stuff will be conflicting.

Just plug the SSD, there is high chance of it working nowadays.

i think can. the offer is open for those that requires assistive technology. so just claim that u require that, and u can update.

If you have your Win 7 OEM disk you can use the product key from the disk to activate your Win 10. I did that last week for my first build no issues.

Clean install W10 and activate with your W7 product key will work.

Personally, after switching to Win 10, I don't find it that great.

Anyway if you are changing system, it is highly recommended to reformat the drive. Reason is because the drivers on the old hardware may cause some conflicts, so likely you may run into issues. Also, you will need to re-register the OS since it will recognise that you have changed a new system, i.e. motherboard change.

Tried transferring my OS from old to new comp. But failed at the registration process. In the end bought off reddit
