Need some help here on hardware specifications for a new custom rig. Old rig coming to 5 years liao. Looking at budget of $1.7k, something mid-tier.

CPU + Mainboard:???
RAM:???
SSD C Drive: ???
HDD D Drive: Not required - recycle old HDD
GFX: GTX 1050/1060 range???
DVD drive: ???
PSU: 700W to 800W??
Casing:???
Software: MS Windows 10 & MS Office Home 2016

Hwz people generally recommend Ryzen.

Also difficult to recommend when you no state requirement.

What u want use it for, what size itx or matx or atx also ok?

DVD drive no needed. pSu no need so powerful since it is only 1060.

Nothing intensive or high-end like video editing. Mostly playing of graphics intensive games like GTA/PUBG. Should be able to last 5 years.

I'm a noob so clueless with the various form factors.

To be honest, 650W is more than enough for most system.

Can definitely run GTX 1070 Ti without problem. Can even run GTX 1080 without OC.

Should be can afford 1080 or rtx 2070 even

Cpu just go for ryzen 2600 with b450 motherboard, cant go wrong

Since BF sales and 12.12 sales over liao, i'll just use PCThemes / Best Bargin price list. Obviously can get it for much cheaper online.

Random build i came up with ah, doesn't mean it's the best value for money. Can probably get certain things cheaper also.

PSU: SuperFlower Leadex II 650W Gold: $145 (Best Bargain)
SSD: Samsung 860 EVO 500GB: $139 (Best Bargain)
Casing: Personal Preference: $XX (can consider Tecware Nexus M white for $57~. Not a fan of it, but it’ll suit the theme and fit the Budget)
OS: from Reddit /r/microsoftsoftwareswap ($50-60?)

You should be able to get a discount from PCThemes, then use the savings to buy the windows 10 from reddit. Alternatively u can buy the components from Online Retailers like Amazon, Newegg, Lazada, Shopee, Qoo10. Should be able to fit everything listed above for less than $1700.

Want RGB Liquid CPU Cooler can consider Corsair H100i Pro RGB: $179.

Removed HDD, added some extra stuff.

Remember to check for size compatability ah. I never really check dimensions of the GPU. Make sure the CPU cooler and GPU fits nicely into your casing.

And @TS go for at least a 1070ti or 1080 or 2070.

By 2019 the GTX 1060 will be very obselete and unable to maintain 60fps on 2019 AAA games liao.

Newegg still has a couple of cheap deals. Yesteday I check, Corsair vengeance was still below $200. Can save another $30 here and there.

Definitely won’t be as cheap as Black Friday / Cyber Monday deals, where you’ll probably be able to get the same rig (or better) for like probably $200-400 cheaper lol.

Main considerations are convenience to get all the parts from 1 place say PCThemes at reasonable prices.... hence need the hardware list for a mid-tier rig

Then u must check TradePac also. When u make ur way down to Sim Lim, must make sure u visit all the shops and ask for quotation lol. TradePac usually the cheapest. Try to pay in cash and ask them for like 2-3% discount lol.

Sapphire Radeon RX Vega 64 is on Newegg for $587.42 (GST included)

IIRC Vega 64 is like 1070 Ti, or slightly better but with higher power consumption. Can't remember.

If not, buy ATX board can give u abit more savings and use that $ to buy better processor
