pending new releases, decided to wait a month or 2, but current specs more or less finalized.

Asus Z97 Maximus VII Formula + i7-4790k ~ $900
Gskills Ripjaws 1600mhz 2x2x4gb kit Red ~ $115*2
Samsung 850 Pro 256GB ~ $295
ZOTAC(or others pending release) 980 x2 ~ $1598
Seasonic X1050 1050w 80+ Gold Fully Modular PSU ~ $278
Fractal Design Arc Midi 2~ $129
Corsair H110 Hydro Cooler ~ $150
~$3700

couple of questions really:
- 2 sticks of ram better than 4 sticks?
- what's that casing display at PCThemes with the big window? Midi 2 vs R4? any other alternatives? price range around 150, +/- $50.
- which AIO cooler H110 seems to be the better performer. Googled it and other people mentioned Swifttech H220 etc.

Will probably salvage my 2 gentle typhoons and a 3TB WD Black to use in the new rig, everything else stays, haha.

1) 2X8GB RAMs would be better as the probality of failure decreases with the number of parts. Slightly cheaper too.

2) Can also consider CM Seidon 240M or Thermaltake Water Extreme. The differences are about 1-2C at load anyway.

3) Why i7? Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom generally benefit little from hyperthreading and if overclocking, you will generally get the same performance with both i5 and i7 anyway assuming equal clockspeed and CPU architecture.
