Hi guys building a rig for light gaming and future proofing, need some parts recc.
Although i state light gaming, i am using a 1440p 144hz monitor, so even Non-AAA games should take some power to drive max fps.

Budget 2k.

Do NOT need: Monitor & Peripherals

Buy-list:
i5-6600K
OC-able Mobo
16GB Ram
2xxgb SSD
1tb HDD
PSU
Cpu air cooler (less maintenance, lazy wash radiator block)
ATX Case (phanteks evolv atx?)
GTX1070
???

Can cram in my budget and possibly even lower?

Furthermore, Intel's Kaby Lake cpu is coming out soon. Perhaps wait it abit since your current one is still good. Instead, get a better gpu such as GTX1070 or 1080. Just a suggestion

Also, I do not play the waiting game unless it is very near and proven to have a huge jump in performance. Current news about kabylake is not a huge jump in performance.

Main parts would be the Mother board, i7 chipset and the GTX 980ti which is able to beat the gtx 1070 in some games at 1080p! Generally both cards are somewhat on par with one another, but the 980ti is slightly better in terms of overclocking ability! Moreover it's the gigabyte g1 gaming series, the TOP tier of the gtx 980ti cards in the market!

However if you would like to have a gtx 1070 I could do a swap out for you FOC! But do let me know first as I would need to get the card!

best maybe is this : ASUS H170 PRO GAMING (but cpu would rather u take i5 6500 though, that 10+ more bucks for i5 6600 with 100Mhz difference..)

sadly h170 board ram only support up til 2133Mhz, so even with higher speed ram will still downclock to 2133Mhz.

both are good casing, but would prefer R5 for better airflow.

well no point going lower captcity for faster speed ssd, unless u doing RAID 0 (but there is a risk as well) or u gonna transfer files or gonna use it as scratch disk for rendering.

PS: mobo stability is hard to tell u....
